Robbie Seay Band - Hope, Coffee & Melody Fall Tour

Join us for night of “Hope, Coffee & a Melody” featuring the Robbie Seay Band with Chris Taylor and Alli Rogers.

From the Robbie Seay Band:  “The world seems to be getting more complex. Oil prices have skyrocketed, natural disasters perplex us all, and despite the reality that the internet has dissolved the borders of the world through information, people still feel deeply disconnected, isolated, and alone. There is a story that brings us all together, only in the onslaught of nonstop media noise this Voice of Hope is drowned out.

It’s time to tune in. In one night of music, story, experience, and laughter we hope to connect rich and poor, hopeful and hopeless. Intertwine the lives of the struggling coffee farmer with the people who wake up drinking coffee from beans he plants and harvests and in this connection they will both find hope.

A young girl in a Kolkata red light district will be given a job making bibles rather than following the footsteps of her mother who works in prostitution, and the employer and employee will be changed forever. A child that you have yet to meet, will look to you and ask you to share your abundance so that her most basic needs might be met, and the world will become so much more than smaller, but closer.

It is our prayer, that in the midst of this whirlwind we will laugh as people that have not lost hope, drink deep of a rare cup of coffee, and share a melody that will awaken the best in all of us. So set aside one evening to see the world from a new vantage point and leave singing your own “Song of Hope.”

Cost: $12 Advanced & Students / $15 after October 10

Becky Chace & Alexis George

Chosen Best Local Female Vocalist 5 times by the readers of the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll, Becky has been said to have “the voice of an angel who just got her heart ripped out by the devil.” - The New Haven Advocate

Anyone who has seen Becky sing in any setting knows she delivers with passion and conviction every time she takes a stage. Her CDs have received critical acclaim from publications including The Boston Globe who called Chace’s Take Your Shot “a stunning collection of original roots rock, folk, and blues.” Chace has opened for such national acts as Joan Jett, America, Judi Collins, The Gin Blossoms, Better Than Ezra, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Littlefeat, Delbert McClinton, and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes to name a few and is “arguably hands-down one of the most celebrated singer-songwriters to come out of the Rhode Island area.” Motif Magazine

Becky Chace believes that music should be used as a tool to bring people together. Her entire career has been a testament to her vision of what music can do. Like her idols, Dylan, Springsteen, and Lucinda Williams, she has always believed there is more than one way to get her message across. Whether by rocking the house playing rock and blues or by playing in an intimate setting with just an acoustic guitar and her voice to communicate her message, Chace proves genres and styles don’t matter as long as the singer expresses herself with passion. Having sold over 8,000 plus copies of her independently released CDs, it is obvious that her fans believe this passion comes across on CD as well.

Flo AnitoWebsite: http://www.floanito.com

Classically trained in voice, piano, and ‘cello, Flo Anito began her career as a singer/songwriter career at age 16 when she got her hands on her first guitar. Already rewarded for her musicality with All-State recognition and roles in Summer-stock theatre, songwriting came naturally to this young talent who has quickly proven herself a prolific writer of thought provoking alternative folk/pop songs.

Since her recent graduation from Wesleyan University (CT) with a BA in Music, Flo has made DC her homebase. She heads the local chapter of Just Plain Folks (www.justplainfolks.org), an international music networking organization, and has performed and sold her debut cd in venues across New England and the Mid-Atlantic states. Her lively performance style, along with her powerful voice and candid lyrics make her a force to be reckoned with in the future so… look out!
